Perhaps join an optional cruise for breathtaking views of the towering mountains and the lake. The rest of the evening is yours.
Page – Horseshoe Bend – Monument Valley – Kayenta
Stop at Horseshoe Bend, overlooking one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River before exploring the treasures of Monument Valley, an area sacred to the Navajo people and immortalised in countless Hollywood movies. Marvel at the immense monolithic rock formations jutting hundreds of feet from the valley floor and listen to fascinating geological and historical stories.
Kayenta – Four Corners – Mesa Verde National Park – Durango
Continue to Four Corners Monument, where the four states of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico converge. Then, head for Mesa Verde National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the best preserved and largest number of Native American ruins and cliff dwellings in the Southwest. Continue on to Durango, once a busy Wild West town during the silver and gold mining boom.
Durango – Silverton – Moab (2 Nights)
Drive through the San Juan Mountains to Silverton on perhaps one of the most breathtaking journeys. As an option, you can ride aboard the Narrow Gauge Railway between Durango and Silverton. From Silverton, travel to Ouray and down the mountains to arrive in Moab, a town surrounded by an out-of-this-world red rock landscape.
Arches National Park and Free Time
